Summary of Instructions:
1. Surface Preparation
Concrete must be clean, dry, dust-free, and free of wax or form release residue. It must also have enough microtexture for the sealer to bond. There are 3 ways to provide this microtexture (all done wet – dry processing is not allowed):
- Machine hone with a 200 grit diamond pad (maximum 400 grit), or
- Acid etch with a solution of 1 part by volume muriatic (hydrochloric) acid added to 10 parts by volume of clear water. (Always add acid to water, not the other way around.), or
- Hand sand with 320 to 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

2. Tools & Dilution
- Gather tools: Clean water, mixing container, foam roller(s), spray bottle.
- Shake Ovation well.
- Mix 2 parts Ovation with 1 part water and put in spray bottle.
- Dampen foam roller.
3. Application
- Use spray bottle to apply Ovation to a small area, then use foam roller to spread and backroll.
- On the first coat, use firm pressure to work into surface. Maintain a wet edge.
- Do not go back over sections – small bubbles will disappear on their own.
- Do not allow roller to become over-saturated. Squeeze out excess sealer if needed.
- Wait until the first coat is completely dry and the surface has lightened to its original appearance. Depending on temperature and humidity, this could take an hour or only 10 minutes.
- Apply 3 more coats, drying fully between each coat.
